Egyptians used Cypress to adorn their stone coffins along with using the oil for its medicinal properties. A tall, conical, evergreen tree, it originated in the East but is popularly grown throughout the Mediterranean area, especially in Algeria and southern France. The distillation of the leaves, twigs and cones of the tree obtain the essence.
Demeter’s Cypress has a refreshing, spicy fragrance, reminiscent of pine-needles.
